Iran animation ‘Kelileh and Demneh’ has been set to appear on silver screen from Wednesday.
Directed by Alireza Tavakkoli, the public screening of the animation will kick off on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in some Iranian cinema theaters.
The animation has received the Special Jury Award at the Children’s Fest section of the Eurasia International Film Festival in Kazakhstan, 2017.
Kelileh and Demneh are two young jackals caught up during the middle of a rainy night. Meanwhile, a horrified owl pays a visit to the king of the jungle to report about the excessive hunting he had witnessed.
‘Kelileh & Demneh’ is the Persian version of ‘The Panchatantra’, which is a Sanskrit ancient Indian collection of interrelated animal fables in verse and prose, arranged within a frame story.
